2018 Women’s Only Hunting Seminar

Back in July, I visited Rosse Posse Acres to attend the Woman’s Only Hunting Seminar in Molalla, Oregon for my continued education. I arrived Friday night so I can enjoy the environment and camp in the oak grove where I woke to a beautiful Saturday morning.

Let me introduce you to the Rack Stackers, Sara, Brenda and Kathy.  These 3 woman created the one day seminar that was filled with hands on experience and lots of knowledge on everything hunting.

The seminar attracted women of all levels from never hunted to the experts.  It was a really nice group of women.  We learned, laughed and enjoyed each others company.  Many friendships were formed that day.

It started with an introduction and a tour of the elk farm.  Oh, did I mention that Rosse Posse Acres is an Elk Farm.  There were massively beautiful Rocky Mountain and Roosevelt Elk.

We continued to the Archery range to learn about archery and how to shoot the bows presented by Kutch Archery.  It was fun to see the ladies use a bow for the first time and hit paper. It’s an instant love affair.

For those who were not sure about what gun to choose for hunting, well, there was a presentation called, ‘What gun to use for what hunt.’  It was really good information.

I really liked the presentation on “How to pack your backpack and what clothing to wear”. This was a good one for me because I always want to learn how to downsize my pack. There’s a lot of new technology on clothing, boots and other goodies so I look for items that others have used to get their personal opinions.

During the seminar, we were fed very well.  We had an opportunity to taste Fallow deer meat, Fallow Kabobs. Yum!  The meat tasted really good. We also sampled Mountain House freeze dried foods and a whole lot more food than my stomach could handle.  Thanks Ladies!

We also had the opportunity to have hands on experience harvesting 2 Fallow deer.  Every woman was apart of the harvest. No one was squeamish in this group. They were all in.

The vendors were knowledgable in their field products and had quality merchandise.  Vendor information is found on the right of the page.

All in all, this was an educational and fun seminar.  I highly recommend that you mark your calendar to attend the seminar. Come pitch a tent, bring your camper or hell, sleep in your car on Friday, June 28, 2019 then awake on Saturday, June 29, 2018 to attend the seminar for a full-day of outdoor education.

See you next year!
